What is the Data Management Team group responsible for?
The Data Management Team manages business data to ensure accurate, timely, consistent and compliant data. Their contributions deliver quality data that is easily accessible and can be trusted. Key downstream capabilities such as reporting and analytics depend on this as well as operational data access on various systems. This is a technology function that acts as an advocate and a point of contact for Sales and Marketing data within Global Advisory Services division. It is expected that all members within the team have a sense of operational excellence and a sense for details to ensure timeliness and accuracy in handling data. Team members must have a mature disposition, be personable, and work well within teams across time zones.
What is the Lead data Analyst responsible for?
Data is critical and a competitive differentiator in our industry, especially for Global Advisory Services (GAS). A well thought through enterprise-wide data ecosystem is an urgent need, and the ability includes the need for the intelligence derived from this data to be operationalized for better decision making across distribution. This role will play a vital role as a SME in the strategic scoping and implementation of this data ecosystem for GAS. The Lead Data Analyst is responsible to:
Understand the data flow, key consumption and production of data and generate ideas to automate data pipelines. Provide data management subject matter expertise. Appreciate the connection and data flow between applications and other corporate systems. Be able to clearly articulate the data needs and move initiatives forward by collaborating with business partners. Provide accurate and consistent data with expertise in Data Operations, Quality and Governance Increase awareness and promote data management capabilities. Continuously ideate automation of ongoing maintenance of existing data pipelines.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Lead data Analyst?
Provide accurate and consistent data with subject matter expertise in Data Operations, and Data Quality
Monitor the integrity of data and ensure appropriate stewardship in line with enterprise guidelines.
Ensure that the information available within all systems is accurate and up-to-date.
Proactively seek data cleansing opportunities and run regular data audits.
Document, maintain and execute ongoing processes for data clean-up and metadata maintenance.
Implement a framework for data quality, accuracy, and governance for the entire ecosystem, ensuring confident downstream usage.
Participating in the project releases process by identifying and prioritizing business data needs, working with local teams to accurately document data ownership, quality rules and licensing terms.
Developing and maintaining various data load processes for receiving, reviewing and loading files into the sales systems. Collaborating with internal teams and external contacts to identify owners, establish an ongoing process, and document procedures.
Support the enhancement of business data models, manage reference lists and partial master data.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
Post-graduate, preferably an MBA with Engineering background
Understanding of the Franklin Templeton business model, how FT makes money, the sales process, how technology fits in with the business, etc.
10+ years of experience, with atleast 3 years in the financial industry
Experience in managing enterprise level data and exposure to its underlying technology ecosystems.
Expert knowledge of the MDM, CRM, SQL, Data Analysis and Automation tools to automate ongoing maintenance of data pipelines
Ability to take a larger problem and break down the individual components; identify how to go about solving the problem.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management; ability to tailor communication style based on audience; ability to get others to want to collaborate with you; good facilitation skills.
Shift Work Timings – 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
