Job summary
The IN Outbound team is responsible for overseeing the business and product charter for our two key free traffic driving channels, Push and Email. On the business front, we own the management of the channel’s contribution to site revenue, which we achieve by driving millions of personalized messages on a daily basis. Even at this scale, we deliver simple and intuitive experiences to customers owing to complex automation capabilities and sophisticated marketing products.

The Head of Outbound Marketing will be responsible for driving customer engagement metrics including first purchase, repeat purchase, cross-category purchase, retention and reactivation – this will be across a diverse set of programs (e.g. Shopping, Amazon Pay, MiniTV, Amazon Foods, Amazon Fresh, etc). The role will identify valuable trends/opportunities through data analysis, mapping the customer journey, defining customer segmentation, and ideating marketing plans through the personalized marketing channels namely Email, SMS, Push Notifications, In-App messaging and Notification Center.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned marketer with a strong CRM or Personalized Marketing knowledge, and broad marketing experience across strategy, acquisition, engagement, and/or product marketing. Candidates will have experience working cross-functionally and driving programs that reach millions of customers, as well as an aptitude for data analysis and a good understanding of digital marketing channels.

Key job responsibilities

Lead a team of marketeers and formulate the Outbound Marketing strategies for Amazon India, in consideration of target customer segments, competitive environment, our program’s strengths and areas to invest for future innovations
Manage, improve and innovate personalized marketing programs. Ensure top-line growth while continuing to improve on channel engagement and channel health metrics.
Develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with the category leadership to achieve shared goals; Maximize opportunities identified through collaboration with category teams
Work with other functional teams within the larger Consumer Marketing team to find new business opportunities
Share and learn worldwide best practices, to mutually help among worldwide marketing teams and achieve goals.
Diving deep into engagement and retention performance to identify patterns and trends; Articulate plans, experimentation roadmaps and results to leadership
Develop a strong culture of rapid experimentation, measurement, and iteration; use data to measure and understand customer behaviour and apply/share those insights
Technology affinity and track record of employing systems to drive simplification and change; Technical or CRM marketing experience
Experience in managing online customer experience, including landing page, merchandising, and communication framework
Intuition for customer communication voice; adept at marketing copywriting and design aesthetics; Experience writing customer-facing content that is on-brand, relevant, and tailored to the customer experience.
Familiarity with SQL and using queries to extract and analyse data
