Get to know the Role:
As an engineering manager, you will take on the challenge to build and grow CX teams and to lead them in setting and executing their strategies. You will be a multiplier for your team and your peers, guiding, supporting, and innovating at every step of the development initiative, providing technical insight and perspective, challenging the status quo and raising the bar, connecting people and teams across the organization.
The Day-to-Day Activities
Lead a team of engineers across different tech stacks (mobile, web, and backend) to deliver highly scalable and available services and immersive experiences for our users
Partner with cross-functional leaders across product, design, analytics, and data science to build and execute the product roadmap, set customer focussed metrics, and robust experiment designs
Lead the quarterly planning and build a smooth execution plan with the team for securing the delivery of product and engineering roadmap, you are the ultimate owner of the successful delivery and rollout of your roadmap.
Drive team-wide engineering initiatives by collaborating effectively with senior leaders in the org by employing your mastery of technologies, communicating your ideas effectively, and driving alignment with key stakeholders to create successful outcomes.
Set the engineering excellence metrics and targets for the team, consistently raise the bar across testability, availability, security, and code quality for your systems and modules
Attract and retain talent engineering talent, actively mentor and develop engineering talent in the team and across Grab
The Must-Haves:
A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or have a similar experience with 8+ years engineering experience on mobile or backend technologies and at least 2+ years of management experience of mid-size teams of up to 10 engineers
Significant experience as a successful software development leader in large-scale, highly available Internet and mobile applications. Experience working for a start-up or scale-up is preferred.
Experience leading high-impact product teams of engineers and driving large-scale projects in collaboration with product, design, and commercial teams, to succeed.
Possess strong communication skills and can communicate complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences effectively
