Are you a strategic thinker who loves working hands-on with data and marketing tech to test new ideas that engage audiences and deliver results?
Based in the heart of North Sydney, we have an exciting opportunity for a full time Marketing Automation Specialist to join our 9Network and 9Now Consumer Marketing team.
This role reports to the Head of Marketing Communications and is responsible for the development and optimisation of 9Now’s marketing automation and lifecycle comms strategy that connects our audience with great content and supports engagement and retention.
Day to day you will:
Design and optimise automated marketing campaigns across the lifecycle of a 9Now user including onboarding, retention, win-back etc.
Be the subject matter expert on our marketing comms platform and use this platform to orchestrate user journeys with a targeted and multi-channel approach including email, mobile push notifications, in-app messages and web notifications.
Leverage Nine’s data asset to mine audience insights and trends and create audience segments that can be used for highly targeted campaigns across comms channels as well as owned and paid media channels
Through collaboration with the marketing comms team and other stakeholders, you will identify opportunities, brainstorm solutions and then test and analyse variations within lifecycle comms journeys (including segments, timing, content and creative) to optimise results
Share results, insights, recommendations and industry best practice examples with the marketing team and relevant stakeholders
Collaborate with the marketing comms team in the planning of our comms content calendar and message prioritisation
Troubleshoot platform technical issues related to delivery performance, workflows, HTML, dynamic content, list segmentation and other aspects of the marketing automation process.
Work closely with the Data/Product/Tech teams to ensure we have the tech support we need to meet marketing objectives.
Manage the administration of the marketing platform including monitoring of send volumes, database health metrics, contact pressure rules and frequency caps.
Support and share knowledge with other marketing platform users including the Marketing Communications Executive, Trade Marketing and Editorial teams

Qualifications

In order to succeed you will ideally have:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing automation or similar function
Understanding of digital marketing principles, including digital performance metrics, channels, audience building, communications best practice and privacy/spam legislation
Extensive experience with a large-scale marketing communications platform
Understanding of operational data and experience in basic management of datasets including native and temporal schemas and ability to write or understand SQL queries
Understanding of Json notation and objects would be highly regarded
Understanding of API-based integrations
HTML coding experience and/or demonstrated understanding of responsive HTML email design.
Experience in defining the requirements for dashboard reporting and/or experience with building reports using business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Google Data Studio
Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work tasks autonomously
Interest in sharing their knowledge with others and helping to develop the skills of others
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret data to form insights.
Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritise tasks to meet campaign deadlines.
Demonstrated skills and experience in a similar role
A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications or related discipline
A high level of focus and attention to detail
A pro-active, solution-oriented mindset with high levels of ownership and responsibility
