Job Description : About The Role
We are looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to work within our BEAUTIFUL Autism Accredited Supported Living Service based in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire. Moorpark Place is a specialist supported living service for adults who are on the Autistic Spectrum. Located in a peaceful and stunning setting in Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire, we specialise in providing supportive, therapeutic care. Our aim is to support our residents to have an enjoyable and engaging life, both on and off site.

The layout at Moorpark Place is unique and different to many other specialist adult autism services in the UK. Our community consists of 25 individual houses set in their own grounds with some shared facilities, including: Gym, Sensory room, Music room, Dance hall, Family room and conservatory, IT room, Large walled garden with individual garden plots, Trampolines, play equipment, We support people who would struggle to live independently because they need help with everyday tasks and managing their own home.

In your new role, you will:

Work under the supervision of a qualified and registered Occupational Therapist and participate in personal development (CPD).
Assist the Occupational Therapist in their assessment, provide a variety of therapeutic intervention, evaluation and informing care planning and risk management procedures.
Where applicable, to be responsible for the running of Occupational Therapy led group and development on both onsite / offsite activities / events.
Provide and receive information, written and oral and maintain all written and electronic documents.
Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, including care reviews and care planning meetings.
Contribute to service evaluation and development and where appropriate, participate in induction, training delivery and education of students and other staff.
About You
You will ideally have:

A genuine interest in working within a caring environment
Good general education to NAT5 / Higher level or equivalent.
Relevant knowledge/awareness of working with Adults with Learning Disabilities, mental health conditions, challenging behaviours and people with physical disabilities
Ability to work with and engage people in a range of activities.
Positive interpersonal skills.
