We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen in our Bristol team (location range from Clifton, Aztec West & Langford), for an Ophthalmic Assistant to join the team and help us continue to deliver outstanding clinical care for our patients.

We are looking for someone who will thrive on working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Clinic Assistants, Ophthalmic Assistants, Patient Administrators, Nurses, ODPs, Ophthalmic Technicians, Optometrists, and Consultant Ophthalmologists. What will the role involve?

An Ophthalmic Assistant plays an essential and key role in the smooth running of clinics and administrative support within a theatre in order to maintain our exceptional levels of care.

The post holder will actively participate and assist with the effective and efficient delivery of a comprehensive imaging service.
They will be expected to deliver this service in close liaison with Nursing, Clinical and Optical staff whilst providing ophthalmic diagnostics.
Contribute to the overall good of the organisation by being a positive role model and treat all staff, patients, clinicians and service users with courtesy and respect.
What skills and experience do I need for the role?

Specific Competencies

Fully computer literate – comfortable with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new patient record systems.
A high level of attention to detail
Self-motivated
Excellent level of communication
Word class customer services skills

Desirable

Experience within a healthcare setting.
Ability to build a working knowledge of eye physiology and treatment.
Previous experience of human physiology, biological science or allied healthcare is a distinct advantage.
