Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services this role will lead the establishment of the Power Platform COE and governance within UNSW.
The Power Platform Lead will combine both technical leadership with the customer advocacy and solution design to deliver a unique, hybrid, opportunity. The role is the critical interface between the technical teams and provide innovative Power Platform solutions for customers (UNSW IT and UNSW business departments) and support them through their adoption of the platform. It covers a range of consulting and delivery activities.
The successful candidate will act as the Subject Matter Expert and will Influence guide and mentor UNSW User on Power Platform and will be fully responsible for meeting allocated objectives and establishing milestones as well as making critical decisions which impact the success of assigned work, such as results, milestones, and budget
The Power Platform Lead works under broad direction, is self-initiated, and performs an extensive range and variety of complex work activities and will need to be familiar with recognised industry bodies of knowledge and be active in seeking out new knowledge for their own personal development as well as the mentoring or coaching of others
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
Lead scoping engagements to produce solution artefacts, solution designs, implementation effort estimates, project, and resource plans for Power Platform solutions
Translate high-level business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Power Platform while considering the necessary technology, security, integration, and performance requirements to support the business solution
Develop and lead the presentation of business cases for high-level initiatives and prioritise to progress opportunities to invest more broadly for greater business benefit
Drive collaboration to align critical key stakeholders with diverse objectives to agree and adopt the technology strategy and new solutions, mentoring and supporting the delivery team performing scoping and delivery activities, and reviewing their outputs
Provide expert, specialist advice to support organisational needs, providing strategy and services to support the resolution of conflicting demands and/or designs and initiatives that continue to mature this capability.
Oversee various concurrent customer engagements in a solution assurance capacity
Identify subsequent areas for solution enhancement and expansion
Perform project delivery activities and produce deliverables
Establish and rollout Centre of Excellence including strategy, governance, admin, enablement and development activities and material. Includes knowledge base, service offerings and support materials – eg. Pipeline repository, estimating and Project delivery templates, frameworks, and other resources to support delivery and capability development
Power Platform SME to Customers – support knowledge sharing and solution delivery across the organisation
Maintain their knowledge of the Power Platform’s capabilities and new release features
Develop working relationship with IT, Customers and Microsoft stakeholders
Promote a culture of continuous business improvement
Skills and Experience
5+ years working experience as a Solution Architect OR Specialist Consultant in a Consultancy / Cloud Software Vendor / Enterprise Organisation – CRM SaaS applications, not Infrastructure
Knowledge/certification on architecture frameworks/methods
Advanced experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Power Platform
Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 certifications and knowledge of latest features and advancements, one or more of following certifications are highly desirable:
o PL-100 – Microsoft Power Platform App Maker
o PL-200 – Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant
o PL-600 – Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect
Business acumen to understand business objectives, challenges, constraints, and opportunities
Excellent presentation and communications skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms along with strong workshop facilitation skills
Experience with designing integration (real time, batch), data migration experience and types of technology used (middleware, direct, etc)
Proven experience leading solution definition for enterprise customers including detailed project planning and effort estimation activities
Proven ability to successfully develop and lead the implementation of robust digital strategies
