Our first nursery opened in Sutton Scotney in a converted chapel and was rated outstanding by Ofsted for the second time in March 2020. Our second nursery opened in Andover in 2016 in a brand new, purpose built, contemporary building. We have an excellent local reputation and 95% of our parents have come to us due to personal recommendations.We are looking for a level 3 or higher Room Leader for our Pre-School room – Child aged 3 years to 5 years promoting our school readiness programme.Please note health & social care and teaching & learning qualifications are not considered ‘full & relevant’ for early years.We had 100% staff retention following the nationwide lockdown. A usual working week will be 40 hours.As a Room Leader you are in sole charge of your room including the children and staff. You must oversee the running of the room and take full responsibility for everything which takes place within the room. You must be an effective delegator and have strong leadership skills to empower and direct your team to show outstanding practice throughout the day.Duties include the following: Team development: *Lead by example and act as a role model to all staff, students, and volunteers supporting their individual training requirements*Provide constructive feedback to staff to help them to improve within their roles as practitioners*Use own knowledge and experiences to assess staff’s strengths and support them to develop their areas of weakness*Ensure the staff team have good morale and are positive members of the team.Parent partnership: *Develop relationships with parents which enables them to be fully involved in their children’s education including taking an active role in supporting their children to make good development progress*Attend and participate during regular parents’ evenings and staff meetings outside normal working hours.*Be the first point of call should parents have any concerns or feedback regarding the roomLeadership and Management: *Oversee the smooth running and high-quality early years practice within the room, promoting best practice at all times.*Abide by the company’s health and safety policy by taking all practical and reasonable steps to ensure the wellbeing of all who use the premises.*Implement feedback and advice, delegating jobs and checking they have been completed to a high quality*Ensure the daily routine is followed and that staff understand their roles and responsibilities throughout the dayImproving outcomes for children: *Ensure all children have fun, exciting and challenging activities planned and carried out during the day.
