Everyone on our team has a meaningful impact on product features, new directions in music streaming, and customer engagement. As Music continues to grow, we are looking for a talented and passionate Product Designer to play a vital role in improving Amazon Music Free and Amazon Music Prime customers’ experience.

You will lead product design for a variety of projects, from discovery to workflow development, to wireframes and high-fidelity mocks and prototypes. You will be working from high-level requirements to define design flows, interactions, and content strategies in collaboration with business leaders, engineers, product managers, and other product designers. To be successful, you must be a critical, inventive thinker with clear design chops, an excitement for understanding and using data, and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively. Being a big music fan is a plus.

A day in the life

In this role, a Product Designer will work very closely with Amazon Music Free and Amazon Music Prime team.
A typical day will consist of creating design mockups, holding meetings with stakeholders, coordinating with fellow product designers, and evangelizing good design principles.

Job responsibilities

Create process flows, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and mockups to effectively communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.
Come up with user research plan with research team, synthesize results, and incorporate them into designs.
Lead usability testing and create final design and detailed interaction behavior specifications for handoff to engineering team.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define business and feature requirements, user scenarios and use cases.
Collaborate with stakeholders to create long term strategies and Northstar visions for our products
Develop and nurture relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency.
Proactively manage timelines, expectations, meet deadlines and communicate needs and tradeoffs.

Have worked with product, engineering, and marketing stakeholders to balance between customer needs and business metrics
Good foundation of HCI/traditional “UX” skills = user research, prototyping, service design, interaction design
Experience designing with pattern libraries, using a variety of usability testing methodologies, and making data-driven design decisions
Experience with payment UX, subscription optimizations, and in-app purchases
Experience in and with content strategy
Thrives in fast-paced, experiment-rich environment
Passion for music, podcasts, livestreaming and entertainment
