BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
Industrial BU / Electrical Sub-Vertical

Job Description
ROLE OBJECTIVE
This role will be responsible design, development and manufacturing of the NPD, NPI and PBL Projects falls under Electrical Sub-Vertical of Industrial Business Unit. Product Engineer role will also make sure the alignment and execution of PLM related tasks, Supplier Interactions, and collaboration with Internal stake holders. Product Range – Terminal Block, Outsourced Products (Electr-Mech).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Development of Electro-mechanical products within TE and with suppliersOutsourced Product qualification, certification, and project related activities coordinationrespecting constraints of performance, cost and scheduleDesign of electro/mechanical components utilizing 2D, 3D CAD and Product Life Management tools in-line with the company’s development process.Definition of optimized technical solutions, respecting performances and costImprovement of existing products to reduce their cost, and/or to improve performance and qualityEngineering change and configuration control of Engineering data tools/packs.Creation of 3D and 2D engineering drawings and selection of materials and protective finishes.Definition of functional dimensioning, calculation of creepage distances according to applicable standardsControl of first samples manufactured, and evaluation of the acceptance of deviations thanks to the knowledge of the part designedDefinition and follow-up of validation plan, with labTechnical support of other Departments (marketing, supply chain, operations, quality)

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
BE/ BTech in Electrical EngineeringBasic knowledge of electrical and Power Systems engineering,Hands on experience of working with Electrical Products / Applications from Development, Manufacturing and Supplier interaction point of viewknowledge of CREO 3D CADknowledge of 2D engineering drawings to BS / ISO or equivalentStrong working knowledge of PDM, Windchill, SAP and similar process/platform tools would be an advantageKnowledge of New Product Introduction, Gate Model and Product Life-Cycle development processKnowledge of Engineering data & Change management and configuration controlExperience in Terminal Blocks, Connectors, DIN rail mounted devices, Low-Voltage Switchgear/Control gear, control panel products will be a preferred advantageKnowledge of manufacturing technologies for Electro-Mechanical Products
EXPERIENCE
3 – 5 years Industrial work experience in New Product Introduction with electro-mechanical application management and manufacturing environmentExperience of working with electrical applications like Control Panels, Power Supply Equipment’s, Special Purpose Machine used in IndustryInvolvement in Qualification and validation of Electro-mechanical products from third party suppliers and TE’s manufacturing plansExperience in understanding the electrical & electronics specifications of the product.Exposure and Experience in working with Global cross-cultural and varied time zones/continentsExperience as Individual Contributor as well as Team contributorManaging and prioritizing own workload.Experience in FEA, Analytical tools (DFSS, DFMA etc.)Experience in Product International Standards – IEC, UL, ISO etc.Preferred Industries – Automation, Electrical Products Manufacturing/ Suppliers.
