Job Description : Overview:
Responsible for planning and controlling the deployments of new release on various client’s environment through a release build and deployments process with use of appropriate tools/ technologies. Establish and maintain the release management procedures for successful deployments across product groups across all environments with help of various teams across various geographies. Responsible for build creation, deployments and troubleshooting issues to ensure successful deployments.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare client specific deployment artefacts from base engineering release.
Generate client specific web/ mobility / Cognos packages and coordinate with IT to deploy it on the various client environments
Able to identify issues / Gaps in the build tool and provide feedback to engineering team
Work and effectively use various automation tools and provide feedback from time to time to enhance the tools
Help to automate and improve the deployment artefacts process and build tool
Able to write simple and basic DB queries to retrieve client specific information to create deployment artefacts.
Maintain version control of artefacts in central SVN/ Artifactory/ Github repository
Verify the prepared artefacts using automated utility to ensure correctness of artefacts
Verify application deployment and db logs and perform post deployment configurations if any
Prepare deployment instruction/ checklist document for every deployment activity
Monitor the deployment calendar and ensure to provide the deployment artefacts for every deployment in timely manner
Highlight issues if any to seniors in the team and seek solution proactively
Lookout for new changes appearing in every release and ensure the build tools/ automation tools are compatible with every release
Job Requirements
Minimum Education: Graduate/ Post Graduate, in an IT-related discipline from Reputed colleges / MBA – IT
Minimum Work Experience (years):1-3 years
Key Skills and Competencies:
Should have good understanding and hands-on experience on Automation, Devops, CI/CD tools etc.
Good understanding of version control systems SVN/ Artifactory/ Github, scripting language, application architecture/ database DB2, mongo/ web servers application servers etc.
Basic awareness of various IT Infrastructure activities like Virtual servers, hosting, middleware, DBA activities etc.
Good knowledge of application/ database/ web servers application servers
Should be aware of SDLC and expert in Software Deployment / Release Management activities
Excellent communication & documentation skills. Strong ability in driving the things and ensure on time completion
Should have Good Aptitude/ Analytical capability
Should be very punctual, disciplined and should be able to multitask and able drive multiple things at a time.
