Job Description : Pebbles Care is recruiting for a part-time Residential Child Care Worker. In this role you will work on a one day on, and five days off rota (average 28.2 hours per week).
Your shift will start at 8.00am to 11.00pm and the sleep is from 11pm to 8.00am. You will be paid for all of your rest breaks and sleeps.
Our dedicated Learning & Development team support our employees to achieve the relevant qualifications for their role, including NVQ/SVQ Level 3, subject to funding. This qualification is an excellent entry level course that will enhance your career in Children’s Residential Care opening up future opportunities for advancement within the company.
Previous experience in Residential Child Care is extremely beneficial, however there are many transferable skills for this role. You need be dedicated, resilient, extremely caring and have a nurturing nature. You will be responsible for ensuring that our children and young people are cared for in every element of their lives.
Your responsibilities will include accompanying our children and young people to and from school or college, facilitating family contact, creating a warm and comforting environment, having lots of fun, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies.

Desirable Qualities include:
One years’ experience in child care or youth settings
An SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma / relevant to Children and Young People’s Residential workforce, or working towards.
An interest in pursuing relevant Child Care qualifications,
Familiar with the Codes of Practice set out by regulatory bodies, i.e. SSSC,
An existing PVG / DBS certificate

Our teams are spread across 45 registered homes and 2 academies that continue to meet the needs of young people and provide supportive ways developing and learning. We also have excellent learning and development resources to ensure that all our staff have access to high quality, up-to-date training and support.
Remuneration
The salary is £13,292.16 per annum (expected take home salary)
Part-time hours of work are across a seven-day rota and the hours at work, including paid rest breaks average 28.2 per week. The full-time equivalent salary is £26,584.31 per annum, based on 56.4 hours per week including sleeps and rest breaks. There may be the opportunity to increase your earnings through overtime or career progression. You will receive 28 days holidays per annum, pro-rated for part-time employees and auto-enrolment into the company pension scheme.
