You will be joining the SaaS Infrastructure Team of VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery product. This Team is responsible for building the distributed software layer that is used for deploying, managing and monitoring VMware’s Cloud-based Disaster Recovery (VCDR) Service for worldwide customers across hyper-scalers like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. This software layer is responsible for collecting and processing the telemetry data from thousands of product installations and the integrating this processed data with various data warehousing and data analytics tools. These tools are used by engineering and business teams to get insights into customers and business and take critical decisions. As a member of this team you will collaborate with colleagues having deep expertise in enterprise storage, distributed systems architecture, micro-service architecture, telemetry, databases and other technologies.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for automation, testing, delivery and support of SaaS Infrastructure for VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery and other related services
You will be responsible for the distributed micro-services based software layer for collecting and processing telemetry data from thousands of installations
You will work on integrating this data with various data warehousing, analytics and artificial intelligence tools
You will engage with various teams in VMware to collect requirements and implement them
You will work closely with the VMware Cloud team to integrate new capabilities of the Cloud Platform
You will participate in design and code reviews
Key Skills & Experience Requirement
Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in two or more of programming languages – Java, C, C++, Python, Go
Experience in Large Scale distributed system design, development and debugging
Object oriented and multi-threaded programming and debugging skills
Cloud Native technologies like Docker, Kubernetes etc. and Cloud Platform like AWS or VMware Cloud
Experience in working with Services based on micro-service architecture interacting through APIs
Experience in working with VMware ecosystem on any of the public cloud provider
Bonus Skills & Experience Requirement
Experience in working with DataBases, Data Warehousing Solution and Data Analytics Platform / Tools
Experience with devops, continuous development, integration and delivery
Experience in Linux / Unix System Administration
