StatsBomb was founded in January 2017 to provide data, analytics and consultancy to football teams, media and gambling companies, and has grown into a global multi-sports data and analytics SAAS provider.

Our core products are data and analytics tools, with a tech stack that includes computer vision, machine learning, stream processing, and web-based dataviz. About The Role:
You will be working in a remote team including other Software Engineers, UI Designers and a Project Manager working in an Agile environment, and you will also share best practice and insights with other product teams at StatsBomb. Our new colleague in this role will be working on enhancing and maintaining our flagship data visualization and scouting software, focusing mostly on React development but also maintaining an API and some database work where necessary. You will have access to prominent Senior Engineers to help develop and hone your development skills as well as other exciting technology disciplines such as Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Database Management, Data Streaming and many others.
We are a fast growing company, with an incredibly full roadmap and are therefore looking for someone who is driven, self-motivated, flexible and comfortable working at a fast pace delivering new functionality on a regular basis.
As well as having the required technical skills, communication is a critical skill especially as the team will be largely remote, so sharing progress and working collaboratively online will be a vital part of the role. Attention to detail and ensuring our products are accessible to all users are critical to all Front End Development.

Your Technical Skills:
Essential:
React + State Management
Understanding of Relational Databases (eg Postgres, Mysql)
Unit / Integration Testing
Desirable:
TypeScript
Web Visualisation skills (SVG, D3, etc)
Docker for CI/CD
People management skills
Your Background:
Team player, self-motivated, hard-working, keen to learn
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic understanding of football
Ideally a BSc in a CS / Science based degree, or equivalent knowledge
