Location: 100% Remote

Our client is a bespoke software development company that tailors software to their client’s business processes and needs. They have a refreshing approach to remote working and understand how the real working world is these days. As a business, they’ve been around since 2013 and They aim to operate as an in-house team or consultancy to provide unrivalled customer service.

They are looking for an experienced and motivated Full Stack Developer to take ownership of a variety of projects, work autonomously, and take a consultative approach when working with their clients. Your main objective is to deliver useful, workable software as early as possible, and then iteratively improve it. They gradually evolve their software projects toward our clients’ best product-market fit.

The Role

This Senior Full Stack Developer role is 100% home-based. You will be responsible for working on small and large web development projects in a team of 4. You will primarily be using PHP 7.4+, React or Angular JS as well as Laravel or Symfony framework.

You will be working with the following technologies:

Symfony or Laravel – PHP 7.4+ – other frameworks include CodeIgniter, CakePHP and AngularJS.

React — other frontend languages are acceptable. Since around 2018 they’ve been transitioning from AngularJS to React. All of their new projects use React where it’s applicable.

My SQL / PostgreSQL – Their main database of choice is MySQL, but we sometimes use Postgres with the PostGIS extension where they need to use GeoJSON etc.

Git — this will be one of your most used day-to-day tools, you should be comfortable with a feature branch based workflow, pull requests, and rebasing to keep a clean history

The rest of their tech stack — they’ve built and maintained projects for 7+ years with it

This is the full company-wide tech stack. This vacancy primarily focuses on the technologies listed above, but there will be opportunities to work with the full tech stack on each project.

AWS and Google Cloud Platform for infrastructure and hosting

Jira, GitHub, Slack for project management and source code control

PHPStan, PHP CS Fixer, ESLint, Reactor for code quality and static analysis

Requirements

5+ years working with PHP and Laravel/Symfony
3+ years experience working with React
2+ years experience of working autonomously

The ideal candidate for this Remote Senior Full Stack Developer role will have relevant experience working with the Symfony or Laravel framework as well as PHP. You’ll also need demonstrable experience working with React or Angular.js and will be working independently.

Our client is looking for someone who can work entirely autonomously and independently. They have no desire to micromanage their team members, especially at a senior level. The quality of the work they produce for their clients is extremely important to their brand, so a keen eye for detail is essential.
