Role:
Senior Software Engineer at Omah is a high impact role:
You will join a small product/engineering team and play a key role in shaping our organization and identity
As an early team member, you’ll get a chance to build our engineering culture and design the architecture for our backend machinery
You will be responsible for designing and developing some of the most critical backend features of our technology stack
You will contribute to engineering strategy, teamwork and execution as we deliver scalable systems and top-notch user experiences
You will have strong ownership over your projects, and work closely with the founding team. We have a team culture of high autonomy, almost no bureaucracy.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and maintain cutting edge web-based platform built using open source technologies (PHP/Python)
Build innovative, state-of-the-art applications in collaboration with the product, design and engineering teams
Write modular, clean and maintainable code of highest quality
Prepare and maintain all applications utilizing standard development tools
Develop backend data services using micro services architecture
Ability to act individually and grow in a complex and fast paced environment
Closely work with the Product and QA teams to ensure smooth delivery
Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience
Hunger for driving quality, zero downtime and building resilient platforms
Strong technical skills, particularly expertise in / knowledge of:
PHP/Python frameworks
Collaborative development process using Git/JIRA/Confluence
Microservices architecture
Web applications, HTTP, networking fundamentals
Databases (mySQL) and queuing systems (kafka) etc
Familiarity with ReactJS/Vue
Ownership mentality: Comfortable owning entire outcomes, and ability to work with stakeholders across the company to make sure the team achieves the goals
Ability to solve ambiguous, unexplored, and cross-team problems effectively
Ability to contribute to and participate in architecture discussions
