Job Description
As a senior software engineer, you will be part of our HR & Learning Enablement Technology team to help deliver world class software for our business partners. You will report to the engineering manager and work as an individual contributor participating in designing and development of software. This role will have collaboration with business partners, multiple Visa IT teams and third-party vendors. The portfolio includes SaaS and hosted packaged applications such as Workday, Cornerstone, ADP, SmartRecruiters, ServiceNow, and some homegrown solutions. The candidate will be able to easily understand business requirements and be forward thinking to identify problems that may be effectively resolved with technology solutions. Additionally, this position provides 8×5 application administration and user support services; working primarily with business users to provide technical support and coordinate timely and effective resolution to questions and issues associated with the HR & Learning Systems integrations.

Responsibilities
Building an entire standalone N-Tier application – UI/Web tier/Middle tier/Backend tier/Data tier
Coding, unit testing, document and implement new applications & as well as existing programs
Contribute to enhancements, and corrections to existing applications codebase
Develop code that complies with design specifications and meets security and best practices. Coding must adhere to all standards for security, be easily maintainable and have high system performance.
Collaborate with Development & QA engineers on individual and team deliverables
Comfortable working in a loosely structured, fast-paced organization
Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
Build working relationships with global and virtual teams on software development

Qualifications

3+ years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree
Experience in Microsoft SQL Server and TSQLExperience with the Microsoft .Net core, C# coding and the Visual Studio IDE and TFSProven experience working with technologies such as XML, XSD, XSLT, WSDL, XPath, JSON and SOAP/REST Web Services and Web technologiesExperience with Transport protocols including MQSC, WCF, FTPs, HTTPs, SMTP, LDAPExperience with building Wireframes/UI using HTML, CSS, Angular Framework
BizTalk, ETL, and/or other middleware tool experienceExperience with HTML and JavaScript and other web client technologiesBasic SFTP and encryption knowledgeExperience working effectively with business and IT staff in multiple locations and in a multinational environment is very strongly preferredStrong follow-through, ability to drive to closure and resolution of complex system issues. Excellent problem identification, analysis and solving skillsDemonstrated ability to absorb, analyze, and understand new information, technologies, and practices quicklyExceptional communication and customer facing skills, able to interact effectively with diverse groups of global stakeholders, both technical and business users.
