Talent International is searching for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our client, a large State Government Department.

6 Month Contract
Brisbane CBD location
$70.00 to $90.00 per hour incl Super

This project will aim to deliver the following:

Identify, procure and implement a new elements of cloud data and system integration solution for the client.
Centralise all integration mechanisms for the client’s data and systems into a single platform managed by Corporate Services.
Provide capability for integration of the client’s future state systems during and after the transition to a cloud-based architecture
Consolidation of the System Databases into one technology

Responsibilities:

Manage and Administer the clients Azure environments (Development, Testing and Production).
Monitor performance on all environments (CPU, disk space, etc.) to ensure smooth running of all environments.
Limit downtime on all environments.
Advise on, and implement, different environments for different requirements, including (but not limited to):
Different setups for development, testing and production environments.
Very intensive data processing environments.
Environments that require high guaranteed uptime.
Environments that can automatically scale depending upon processing requirements.
Environments with and without external OLAP access
Light data processing environments.
Research and development projects.
Physical versus cloud-based SQL databases.
Scalable solutions.
Monitor and report to management on actual and projected monthly costs.

Desirable Requirements:

5+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator (preferably Azure experience).
Knowledge of Azure tools, Azure Function, Logic Apps, API Management, Event Grid and app services.
Understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse and Data lake technologies
All aspects of cloud security.
Manage firewalls, VPNs, and remote access to servers, based on different user roles and access requirements.
Manage cloud-based FTP and other forms of file sharing.
Backups, restorations and disaster recovery.
Research into, and implementation of, new Azure tools to improve efficiency, performance, and cost effectiveness.

Essential Skills

Coordinating with product lead and developers to propose requirements and solutions.
Investigate and implement new technologies.
Experience and knowledge of end-to-end transaction processing.
Experience and knowledge of the Digital Transformation domain.
Experience and knowledge of the Cloud Services and hosting domain.
High level written and oral communication skills and excellent organisational skills.
Experience in change management (system releases).
Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a focus on simplification.
Experience working with senior level stakeholders.
