The University of Chester are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Senior Web Developer to lead the implementation of best practice coding standards within the Business Improvement Services (BIS) team. This new position will play a key role in the migration from legacy bespoke systems, with the opportunity to influence the technologies and frameworks to be implemented at the institution.
You will have a degree, or equivalent level qualification and will have significant experience within a Web Development role, including experience of programming using Laravel, PHP, MySQL, MS SQL and API in addition to knowledge of HTML5, React, Javascript / JQuery, JSON, CSS, and W3C Standards.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate prior experience of development across a variety of systems, including working with bespoke systems and integration with off-the-shelf commercial solutions.
You will have an ability to problem solve, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Knowledge and understanding of Higher Education would be an advantage but not essential.
