Our Site Reliability team is responsible for leading and supporting a 99.9% uptime Linux based production environment in AWS and supporting our product development teams by building, coordinating and evolving a department wide infrastructure of software development tools and support systems.
We’re growing our team and looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to work alongside other members of the SRE team to drive the delivery of our vision of department wide infrastructure.

You’ll have a strong automation skills and mindset. As part of our DevOps culture, we expect all our engineers to understand the SDLC and help engineers move code from left to right. You’ll play an important part of this and will understand concepts such CI and CD (delivery and deployment) and how they can help engineers get their code to production without intervention from ops type processes.

We encourage applications from candidates who are interested in flexibility in working arrangements. This role can either be remotely based in the UK with travel to Woking for meetings/ events or office based from Woking.

We’d like you to bring experience of:
Building and leading business critical Amazon Web Services environments (or on similar cloud services).
Git and a strong understanding of version control principles.
Strong Linux/Unix Administration.
Automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt or an equivalent.
IaC (Infrastructure as code) experience in Terraform and/or Cloudformation.
A strong desire to script everything or write code. Able to script / programme at intermediate level in at least one of the following languages – Bash, Ruby, Python, Go, Java, groovy or similar language.

If you also have experience of any of the following then it would be beneficial but not crucial:
Familiarity with any of the following: Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgresSQL
Passionate about open source tooling
Exposure to Docker and containers
Experience using Jenkins, Spinnaker, Maven and Bamboo build tools to create and manage CI (continuous integration) and CD (continuous delivery) pipelines
