We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Software Developer
In this role, you will:
To manage IT services in line with agreed service levels 24 hours a day x 365 days a year. Recover IT systems, and services in accordance with agreed business/IT service levels in conjunction with technical support teams and in line with incident management processes. Provide first line support of HSBC Telecommunication equipment and services, perform scheduled tasks, investigate exceptions, and support the implementation of changes using the banks systems management and operational tools. Liaise and coordinate with support teams, external vendors, internal customers and line management to ensure continuous service delivery and appropriate escalation of incidents.

The Network Engineer role supports many levels of service from tier 0, 1, & 2 and will have varying impact on the business, supporting all global services and business lines.
The Network Engineer also interacts and has an impact on many other departments

Participate in the testing/piloting of new services/hardware.
Profile of service portfolio, Telecommunications services is a part of IT Operations which currently supports telecom & network infrastructure across HSBC associated Companies globally. The smooth operations of the network infrastructure with right level of monitoring and alerting is critical to HSBC. The network extends to over 59 countries globally.
Role Dimensions
Internal and external relationships. For the scope of the respective Service Operations, relationships with infrastructure and application support teams, incident management teams and third-party vendors are critical to the prompt recovery of service impacting issues. The Service Operations interaction would participate in line service issues calls with senior management many levels above their own.
The Network Engineer role will have no FTE responsibility and no financial responsibility
Regulatory. Personal responsibility for completion of any Global Standards related initiatives and activities. Adherence to any regulatory or risk related responsibilities within the scope of this role. Understands the risks, takes steps to mitigate and update risk knowledge
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Graduate degree in Engineering or IT Discipline or a proven track record of 3 years or more in a IT Environment.
Knowledge; –
Experience of working as a Network Engineer in a large global company is an advantage.
Excellent communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills, focusing on remote and written communications, inclusive of ability and experience in interacting with higher positions
Excellent English language speaking and written skills are essential.
Proven judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems
Drive and self-motivation
Ability to be proactive and delivery focused to ensure individual tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality.
Ability and drive to successfully deliver multiple, wide-ranging priorities, often under stringent time pressures in a dynamic environment
Excellent planning, organization skills, including tracking and following up on actions
Ability to make considered decisions that protect and enhance values, reputation and business.
ITIL Service Management Foundation qualification is desirable
Expertise in using network management, diagnostic and operational tools
Ability to work a 24*7*365 shift pattern.
Experience
General experience in IT support.
Handle and manage alerts using ASI alerting tool
Manage and maintain incident ticket queue using GSD
Ability to Handle Major incident calls independently.
Raise and log hardware calls and manage risks associated with hardware replacements
Switch services between sites or to run from single site using F5 GTM/LTM, during incident or change activity
Assist service recovery by taking servers out of service or introducing them into service using F5 tool or associated scripts.
Hands on Experience on LAN Switching/Load Balancers/Wireless Networks/Router/Switches/Network Monitoring tools.
Solid, and intuitive understanding of WAN & LAN technologies and how each device, protocol or system
Should be CCNA Certified.
