Position :

Job Description : What you will be doing:
Develop database schemas, tables, and other database objects.
Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development. *In depth knowledge of T-SQL is must.
Writing optimized SQL queries.
Work on creating users, user permission, backups, recovery, reports generation and any other database related requirement.
Monitor databases to gather resource consuming queries, backups, SQL jobs, database space etc.
Conduct Database diagnostics using SQL profiler, Extended Events, DMVs etc.
Review and debug SQL Server code including ad hoc queries, views, stored procedures, functions and triggers for modernization and performance improvements.
Work on Performance Tuning and Optimization.
Maintain, review, and apply appropriate indexes for new and existing queries.
Analyze SQL query plans, suggest and implement solutions to support developers.
Review alerts and remediate any issues that may arise from blocking, deadlocks and poorly performing code using extended events, execution plan analysis.
Work in an Agile environment
Document and build-up a knowledge base on solving potential issues, best practices, regarding Database operations and share the best practices with the team.
Work on AZURE SQL, Firewall Setup, LTR/PTR Backup/Restore, TDE Encryption.
Database Migration from On-Premises to Azure.
Elastic Job Creation on Azure SQL.
About your experience:
5 to 10 years’ experience working as a database engineer or a related role.
B.Tech. /B.E. Computers (IT), M.Sc. (IT), M.C.A with minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Developer.
Experience and proficiency with MS SQL Server.
Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Azure database design and development.
Experience on dealing with complex queries and store procedure.
Experience with MS SQL Server (2012 or greater) tools, including Query Analyzer, SQL Agent Jobs, Extended Events, Query Store and Profiler.
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Knowledge on Azure DB as a service.
Experience on database migration from on-premises to azure.
Microsoft SQL Server Database Development certification will be added advantage.
Experience with MS Office applications including SSRS and SSIS will be added advantage.
