NFR team is responsible for management, monitoring and reporting of reports across different functions for various Regions and Global Businesses, including contributing towards the development and implementation of a best practice operational risk framework for HSBC.
Effective management of Non-financial risks requires diverse information from a variety of sources, for example, risk reports, risk and control profiles, operational risk incidents, key risk indicators, risk heat maps, and rules and definitions for regulatory capital and economic capital reporting. Executive-level dashboard and reports provide visibility into the risk analysis, highlighting key risk metrics and policy compliance. Business process automation capabilities provide for real-time event escalation, automated risk processes and streamlined remediation of issues and action items. Our suite of Governance, Management and Core Reports and Extracts have been designed to provide essential risk management information and meet a range of reporting requirements.
The Opportunity: (Brief Overview of the Role)
This role is a business support/enabler role, with the responsibility of executing assigned projects/deliverables as per the agreed timelines adhering to the accuracy and quality standards.
We are looking for a dedicated application developer to work with customers to develop new web applications for various business problems using NLP or NLG techniques.
Re In-depth business knowledge across a breadth of functional areas and HSBC business units. Incumbent must have experience in developing Artificial Intelligence applications leveraging Statistical / Machine Learning / Deep learning methodologies
This role requires the incumbent to use python for natural language processing and Natural Language Generation technology and to solve practical problems and create user friendly web applications and act as an individual contributor supporting the business/function or be part of a larger team working on assigned modules. This position will not have any people management responsibility.

What you’ll do:
Experience in writing scalable code using the combination of Python for the backend and HTML, CSS, Javascript for front end application development
Ability to develop the BI dashboards and web applications using standard UI frameworks like ReactJS or Angular
Determining the structure and design of web pages
Ensuring user experience determines design choices
Developing features to enhance the user experience
Striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design
Processing the data using NLP methods to develop innovative applications that helps in solving business problems
Experience in open source NLP libraries like NLTL, Spacy etc.
Testing and debugging the applications for fixing the bugs and timely handle the stakeholder requests
Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation
Developing back-end components in python or any server side programming language.
Integrating data storage solutions for the application.
Evaluating existing applications and performing updates and modifications.
Developing technical handbooks to represent the design and code of new applications.
Coordinating with stakeholder to determine application requirements
Strong communication skills
An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities
Understand projects from the business, technical perspectives and works independently with onshore partners to deliver standard reporting packs within agreed timelines and with 100% quality.
Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including but not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy.
To continually assess the operational risks inherent in the processes, taking account of changing operating procedures, staff movements, legal and regulatory requirements, management restructures, and the impact of new technology.
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Math, Statistics or a related Engineering degree from reputed university
Candidate should have practical experience in full stack application development related to natural language processing / Natural Language Generation
3+ 5 years of experience in a multinational company in a management reporting and analysis role.
Good Knowledge of programming, preferably with proficiency in any one or combination of programming languages Python, Javascript, Typescript.
Good knowledge in UI/UX Development using any of the standard framework like React JS, Angular or Vue JS
Advanced-level ability expected in all MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Pivot Tables, Access, VBA)
Ability to comprehend intricate and diverse range of business problems and analyze them with limited or complex data and provide a feasible solution framework.
Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent in designing / developing / performance tuning Reports
