Role: – Senior executive – CAD / CAM Automation
Location: – Bangalore
This opening is for the Global CAD Automation Team in our Technology Center in Bangalore. The CAD/CAM team works globally in the areas of CAD, CAM & SAP PLM. The CAD/CAM team is involved in support, standardization and automation of CAD, CAM, and PLM systems globally. A fundamental understanding of CAD/CAM tools, manufacturing processes, self-learning ability and teamwork are crucial for this role. The team’s exposure is unique in that they get to work with all the Engineering departments and Manufacturing teams globally. We are also responsible for technical guidance, support, and maintenance of Engineering systems, which form the backbone of Kennametal.
Key Responsibilities: –
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with around 3 or 4 years of work experience respectively in CAD/CAM developed, support and training. Upto 6 Years
Experience of working as part of a global team and handling global projects is a plus.
The incumbent must possess very strong analytical and problem-solving skills and fundamental programming knowledge in CAD/CAM.
Broad SIEMENS NX CAD/CAM Knowledge (>2-year experience) and working knowledge of SAP-PLM or ECTR is desirable.
Part Modeling, Drawing preparation, Assembly knowledge, NX APIs, CNC Programming, Part family etc kind of Advanced NX expertise is preferred.
Fundamental metal cutting product and manufacturing processes optimization knowledge, with prior exposure to tool design / application engineering / machining is preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment, strong interpersonal skills in interfacing with internal and external customers and leadership abilities are essential to successfully lead large projects in a matrix organization structure.
Must have experience with software development using native C++ and .NET, SQL and relational database design, Visual Studio, etc.
Task: –
Maintain and further develop Kennametal CAD Design automation application.
Development of new functionality in CAD System – SIEMENS NX with focus on automating product designs.
Innovative ideas for new functionality as well as develop and maintain Engineering processes in CAD/CAM.
Manage design automation projects and working across functional team where he or she will interface with other operating groups within Kennametal (i.e., Engineering, Manufacturing)
Work with Internal/External customers, Information Technology, etc. on a global basis in maintaining and developing CAD Design Applications.
Basic design understanding and able to create required CAD Designs/Drawings for automation testing purpose.
Support CAD users on design automation.
Technical Skills: –
Experience with one or more MCAD tools (Preferably NX & AutoCAD)
Expertise in programming knowledge on C++/C#/VB.Net using NX APIs, UFunc APIs.(User Functions C APIs)
Should have worked on Blockstyler/ WinForms UIs
Minimum working knowledge on PLM applications (preferably SAP ECTR)
Good knowledge of Computer Sciences & fundamentals, Data structures, Algorithms, Design patterns, OOPS Concepts, Strong debugging skill.
