Job Description : ML1CDCBKPP3CU Job Summary: As a part of consulting team, he/she needs to: ýff Evaluate customer needs based on applications requirements, current capacity and growth trends ýff Deliver engineering specifications, assist with functional specifications, and collaborate on technical designs and specifications for projects and initiatives. ýff Estimate effort, both development and product delivery timelines, to determine a course of action for project. ýff Provide technical or business analytical leadership for specific storage and backup needs or objectives in order to meet business requirements. ýff Work closely with external vendors and other personnel in order to optimize and facilitate the best solution to meet the needs of the business. ýff Develop recommendations in support of project objectives. Develop logical and physical technical artifacts for review. ýff Provide technical services for customers in a highly complex storage and backup environments. Demonstrate ability to assess technical impact to the project/new technology along with technical risks. ýff Resolve complex problems with little or no guidance. Independently research and promote specialized technical solutions. ýff Analyze complex hardware and software issues associated with backup-related technologies, including Veeam Availability Suite, IBM Spectrum Protect and Veritas NetBackup ýff Analyze, architect, design, test, document, and implement solutions for continuous data availability, integrity, backup, and protection. ýff Strong background in enterprise data protection, management and protection solutions. Must be able to design and implement new data protection solutions, manage change, and add backup policies in a large-scale, mission-critical environment. Must have wide-ranging experience and the ability to apply that experience along with professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in effective ways. Strong organizational skills are necessary. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. ýff Demonstrate domain knowledge in data management and data protection technologies and be able apply the knowledge of these methodologies to the protection, retention, reclamation, and disaster recovery. ýff Report on performance and capacities and make allocation recommendations based on trending. ýff Participate in capacity planning and performance discussions and assist in development and execution of disaster recovery exercises. Essential Functions of the Job: o Analyze, Architect and design a solution as per their local region standards o Collaborate with product management, other cross functional leads and teams on both technical and business strategy to shape the future product roadmap of Data Protection for EY. o Implement product features for on-prem and cloud platforms. o Drive accountability for test driven development, delivery of high-quality features and resilient enterprise class solutions o Lead a culture of team ownership and direct individual and team accountability to continuously improve how they work and achieve results Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: Basic analytical skills to probe for understanding a regional request for support in data protection and data backup processes. The role is expected to make sound decisions within the assigned task to accomplish data protection, data backup activities and support discussions on data issues that may affect the region. The role needs to drive the time management of their own efforts to complete assigned activities and to communicate results and findings to management. ýff Knowledge and Skills Requirements: ýff Actively develops knowledge of EYýffs data protection and data backup infrastructure including technical assets and applications used in a region. ýff Evolving knowledge of EYýffs businesses supported within the region to recognize the impact of data storage and backup technology issues to a specific business unit and to identify issues that impacts a particular business or location. o Good expertise in Veeam Availability Suite, IBM Spectrum Protect & Veritas NetBackup technologies o Strong foundational skills on MS Windows, Unix/Linux platforms. o Thorough analytical and problem-solving skills o Work on escalated cases o Must be individual contributor for assigned projects and active participant o Need to be a Solution provider based on KPI Reports o Need to be expertise in handling storage appliances like Data Domain, NetBackup appliance etc o Good hands-on Experience on Encryption Solution SKLM, BES o Good hands-on Experience on tape libraries Dell, ACSLS o Vendor management o Knowledge in cloud technologies like Azure, AWS etc ýff Need to test upcoming technologies and provide detailed documentation to management ýff Conduct technical sessions to Operations, Delivery, Optimization & Compliance teams ýff Need to have good documentation skills, must be a quick learner ýff Need to have good presentation skills ýff Basic interpersonal skills to engage with others, stay calm under pressure and maintain the credibility the business has in Data Protection Consultant ýff Time management skills to prioritize their own workload and work through assigned activities with efficiency. ýff Oral and written communication skills in the English language. ýff Basic understanding of ITIL and Service management process Supervision Responsibilities: The role is generally an individual contributor managed day to day by the Data Protection Architect. Other Requirements: The role may be one in which the day to day activities may be supervised remotely and potentially across time zones, using telephone, email and instant messaging. As such the role may require the discipline needed to work under remote management. The role may also require the periodic allocation of additional time on the job to ensure multiple demands and escalating issues are managed in a timely manner to restore services, as well weekend support is needed. Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or equivalent work experience Experience: Approximately 10 to 12 years of experience in technology infrastructure management and operations. Certification preferred: Veeam Certified Architect, IBM Certified Technical Specialist – IBM Spectrum Protect and VCS-279: Administration of Veritas NetBackup and NetBackup Appliances, Cloud certification will be added advantage Note: This job description is intended as a guide to reflect the principal functions of the job.
