Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a ‘home’ office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.

Successful candidates will be invited to an Assessment Day on Friday 25th March 2022 held at Carew House in Bodmin. Please note this will be either a morning or afternoon session to be confirmed.

We are looking for two dynamic and passionate band 5 nurses to work within our team to provide high quality patient care. Perran ward is a fast paced environment where the staff team work in a compassionate and forward thinking manner to support our adult patients whilst they are in hospital.

Perran ward is a15 bedded acute admission ward. We care for anyone with mental health difficulties who is requiring inpatient care. We strive for our ward to be innovative, creative and recovery focused. We are inspired by some of the best practice and emerging evidence base from Cornwall and around the country and are not afraid to trial new and original thinking for the benefit of our service users. We are looking for caring and creative individuals that are motivated by the opportunities and challenges and work with us in our vision of developing what we hope will be a gold standard unit.

It is very important to us that we create a ward that is therapeutic at its very core and takes into account holistic needs of our patients. It is our aim that we take a whole staff team approach to understanding, engaging and supporting service users. Our pledge is that every interaction will be therapeutic; we would therefore like to attract curious, accepting and empathetic team members who share this ethos.

In order to achieve such ambitious goals we recognise the importance of supporting all our staff in building and feeling a part of a healthy, well-functioning team and service. We appreciate we are striving for cutting edge assessment and treatment within a highly emotive and distressing environment and are therefore looking for individuals that work well under pressure, place high worth in team based working and have an unrelenting passion and dedication for working with people with severe and enduring mental illness.

If you are looking to work somewhere that is unconditionally respectful to service users and their families, that value their staff as individuals and continuously strives to be the best unit it can be then we could be the team for you.

Applicants should be willing to work on a rotational shift pattern including weekends and nights.

To achieve our Trust objectives, we prioritise the development of our staff. To support this, the following opportunities are available:

Protected CPD time for registered staff
Access to a dedicated central development fund supporting CPD for all staff
