The Biomedical Teaching Organisation (BMTO) is seeking to appoint a full-time Student Support Officer to our Student Support Team.
The Opportunity:
This role will play an important part in ensuring we deliver high quality student support to all our Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate Taught (PGT) on-campus and online students. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills and will be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. A working knowledge of the higher education sector including previous experience in a student facing role is desirable. The post holder will be self-motivated and be able to manage multiple competing demands and deadlines. An ability to use initiative and be proactive is essential.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong support-focused attitude.
The post holder will use initiative and judgement to resolve matters.
Ability to maintain working relationships and appropriate boundaries, typically required when referring students to appropriate support.
Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload, with minimal supervision, within timescales and against competing demands, responding to new pressures and adjusting priorities as required.
Previous experience in higher education in a student-facing role, with knowledge of issues and policies in a higher education context is desirable.
