Job Description : Introduction

There is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a service that makes a genuine difference to Homelessness and is at the forefront of developing services to meet the complex support needs associated with homelessness
Our service offers Housing Related Support to males aged 18 plus who need short-term housing support who may have been rough sleeping, homeless or at risk of becoming homeless including leaving prison.

The role of support worker is to provide accommodation-based support to enable our customers to successfully move on to more permanent accommodation. The support worker role is to ensure our customers have the right skills to manage their own tenancy. The support worker role also includes supporting our customers to help maintain and improve their health and wellbeing and to participate in meaningful occupation. This role does not involve any element of personal care
The customers we support may have a range of different support risks and needs which may include Substance misuse and offending behaviour etc

The right candidate will have a person centred approach, work flexibly and have a good understanding of our customer needs. You should also have a good understanding of the homeless sector and experience of completing comprehensive person-centred support plans and risk & Needs assessments.

We are based in the Longsight Area of Manchester and offer free staff parking

Candidate will work 5 days per week covering a 5-week rolling rota including some bank holidays, a combination of shifts including 7.30am – 3.30pm, 8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm, 11am – 7pm, 1pm – 9pm, 2pm – 10pm working on a rota covering 1 weekend in 5.

Candidate will work with a case load of customers working in a person-centred approach and will work with our customers to Co-produce full comprehensive Risk & Needs assessments and support plans. Candidate will work with the customer to move them on into permanent accommodation.
Candidate will work on a range of IT packages.
Who are we looking for?
Candidates that have a flexible can-do approach and can work using their own initiative in a very busy environment. The ideal candidate will have Compassion Empathy a good understanding of homelessness.

Requirements

Excellent communications skills, Excellent IT skills experience of co-producing Support plans and Risk Assessments
