The Corporate Tax Compliance Team is part of Group Tax and is responsible for handling the CT compliance and reporting for Lloyds Banking Group as a whole. This role involves working as part of a team and would provide informative, high quality sophisticated output, advice and mentorship tailored to senior partner needs, operating as a Tax specialist.
Job Description
What you’ll be doing…
Interpret complex processes and manage the efficient and effective production of high quality output and analysis, anticipating stakeholder needs.
Provide a professional level of support and assistance to Senior Tax Managers and/or the business, using judgement as to when more complex queries require escalation
Deliver small-scale projects or well defined tasks on larger projects to improve support to the business
Monitor and support a range of Tax processes and systems to ensure that they are effectively maintained and coordinated, recommending improvements
Establish and build internal relationships to identify business requirements and provide appropriate support and guidance
Demonstrate core Lloyds Banking Group values and behaviours as an active team member
Principle Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Preparation of corporate tax returns for group entities ensuring compliance with appropriate risk management principles
Preparation of tax accounting and reporting disclosures for individual entities and group purposes
Providing a proactive comprehensive advisory service to ensure that the business is aware of the risks of non-compliance
Handling relationships with important internal customers and act as their business partner, while taking mentorship from their senior peer group
Identifying shortcomings, suggesting improvements and implementing approved revisions to current compliance processes, systems and procedures within assigned unit and/or subject area
Additional accountabilities:
Growing own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities
Participating in the delivery of projects within the team, while taking mentorship from senior colleagues
Delivering prescribed outcomes for tasks following risk management principles to ensure the organisation is not exposed to undue risks
Developing and/or delivering insightful observations for significant aspects of the tax systems with mentorship from senior colleagues
Developing and delivering content for training courses to improve employee performance within specific functional area.

Key Capabilities/ Knowledge:
You’ll be experienced in UK corporate tax compliance and accounting (specifically IAS12), whilst demonstrating a sound understanding of Legislation and applicable case law.
A professional qualification (either accountancy or tax specific such as ATT/CTA) and strong knowledge of UK Corporation Tax are requirements for the role.
You will be a natural when it comes to relationship management skills, with a proven ability to analyse, challenge and influence.
This is a Compliance and Reporting role and the successful applicant should have experience in preparing corporation tax returns and tax accounting.
