As a Global Corporate entity operating in 60+ territories HSBC is under constant pressure to adapt and evolve to the requirements of the regulatory regimes we operate within, coupled with transformation programmes within the Global Businesses (GB) and Global Functions (GFs) this equates to a significant degree of change in a very complex environment.
Group Finance operates a large regulatory application portfolio and is two years into a large transformation programme to fundamentally change our business operating model and migrate our applications to the cloud and we are continuing to enhance our global architecture in line with requirements of the Basel III programme. The Group Finance Architecture team is key to ensuring that ongoing regulatory and transformation programmes progress in line with HSBC and Group Finance strategies
We are seeking a Solution architect (GCB4) to join our Group Finance Architecture team to perform infrastructure architecture activities for existing applications and new initiatives. These activities must synchronise with our transformation programmes and will involve collaborating with other architects within the Group Finance Architecture Team to ensure success.
Role Title: Associate Lead Architect
Location (Country / City ): India / Pune / Hyderabad
Principal responsibilities
Accountable for Infrastructure design to support programmes or projects
Ensure solution designs reflect the needs of the enterprise and works closely with senior architects to ensure alignment with architectural strategy, standards and policies
Submissions to relevant design authorities to ensure deviations and key design decisions are approved
Work with Product Managers, Platform Architects, Portfolio Architects and Technical Leads to turn high level architectures into deliverable designs
Engagement with delivery teams to ensure architecture is understood and implemented, providing necessary solution design guidance where required
Soft skills:
Strong experience of working with stakeholders across multiple disciplines; business analysts, Architects, product owners, testing teams and wider technical stakeholders demonstrating ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and embed the architecture
Ability to create clear, concise proposals for solutions and brokering agreement across multiple stakeholders
Demonstrates excellent situational awareness and ability to appropriately react to a changing landscape
Excellent problem solving capability
Ability to operate in areas of ambiguity
Good written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook
Bachelors / Master’s degree in IT/Technology domain
10 + Years of overall IT experience
4+ years of platform engineering (Hadoop, MS SQL, Oracle, Kubernetes)
Requirements
Should possess deep understanding & technical knowledge of HDP / CDP, MS and Oracle product offerings and eco system tools across the technology stack
Should possess good understanding of various enterprise security practices and solutions
Knowledge of working in Agile framework and methodology will be an added advantage
Attend relevant industry events and trade exhibitions to learn about cutting edge product releases and news and spread that knowledge within the team
Experience of modern architecture focussing on data and process optimization and platform build. Group strategy mandates cloud and immutable architecture so an understanding of the leading cloud PaaS capability and containerization strategies are of benefit – even in the instances where applications cannot progress immediately to cloud.
