Salary: £32,000 – £42,000 per annum

Location: TCES Create Learning Secondary, E16 3NR

Contract: Permanent, Term time only.

The Role – Autism Specialist Teacher (ASC)

We are seeking a resiliant and experienced Autism Specialist Teacher to deliver personalised teaching and learning to a class of young (Key Stage 2) neurodiverse pupils, with needs typically assoicated with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will differentiate the primary curriculum to meet the needs of each child in the class, with a particular emphasis on sensory, practical and kinesthetic teaching approaches. You will devise schemes of work, lesson plans and projects utilizing a full range of appropriate community facilities and reflecting sensory and nurturing approaches.

Essential requirements to be successful in the role are:

Be a Qualified Teacher (holding QTS or equivalent) with a primary or SEN sector background.
Minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience.
Able to support pupils in forming and sustaining effective relationships.
Experience of managing neurodiverse children with SEND especially autism (ASC) needs and an understanding of potential implications for communication, learning and behaviour patterns.
Strong moral values, with a resilience to never give up on a child.
