The Role
The role involves working on the platform infrastructure, services and components that are re-used and drive scale and efficiency across all our engineering teams.
Your day to day activities will drive innovation and force multiply the capacity of the entire engineering department.
You should have a foundation in software engineering principles and paradigms and be passionate about new technologies. This is an opportunity to work with a large range of different technologies and we encourage people to actively develop their skills in areas they aren’t familiar with. The key technical requirement for this role is to have a solid background in C# .NET and DevOps tooling, ideally on Azure. Having experience with Front end technologies and MS SQL Server are also very desirable.
Essential Skills
Programming: C# .NET
DevOps: Powershell, Azure Pipelines (or equivalent), Terraform, App Insights, Azure Monitor
Microservices: Consul, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch/Kibana, Kubernetes, Docker

Our Technology
Calero-MDSL is continually evolving the technology platform to leverage new technologies and deliver compelling solutions.
Our customer facing interfaces are rich and complex JavaScript applications, with React JS being our front-end library of choice. Behind the scenes, we predominantly leverage the Microsoft Tech Stack which is based mainly on ASP.NET Web APIs, C# Services and Microsoft SQL Server. These are hosted in a combination of Microsoft Azure and our own private cloud.
We are on a journey toward an “evergreen” continuous deployment model so this would be a great opportunity for anyone with experience in this area to come and help steer that journey.
Location
Our main UK based Engineering centres are in Tunbridge Wells and Edinburgh, so we welcome applicants that are near those locations and wish to work out of an office, but we are happy to consider a UK-based 100% remote option for the right candidate.
