Band 7 Lead Colposcopy Nurse full time (37.5 hours per week) covering services within the Women’s Unit (City) and Gateway F (QMC)
We have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to join our Colposcopy Teams in the role of Lead Nurse.
The Lead Nurse will take day to day responsibility for running the colposcopy service and will be actively involved in colposcopy clinics. You will ensure staff complete mandatory training, appraisals, revalidation and manage HR processes in line with Trust Policy. You will be integral to maintaining capacity and flow of the service.

The main responsibilities for the lead colposcopy nurse are to:
support the lead colposcopist in the development and review of evidence based local guidelines, procedures and patient information documents
support the lead colposcopist in the acquisition and validation of data to support the production of quarterly and annual performance information, including the mandatory KC65 return
support, and represent the views of, colposcopy nurses within the department
support, and represent the views of, other support staff within the colposcopy department
ensure appropriate and safe staffing levels
co-ordinate the training of nursing and administration staff within colposcopy, ensuring competence within their respective roles
ensure standards are maintained within the clinical environment, supporting the failsafe processes
ensure the provision of an appropriate clinical environment for the day to day delivery of colposcopy that meets standards
ensure nursing and administration staff within the colposcopy service meet mandatory training requirements
Working for our organisation
Our team consists of a Lead Clinician Colposcopist, Nurse Colposcopists, Cervical Screening Provider Lead (CSPL), medical, nursing, healthcare and administrative staff. Services currently run Monday-Friday with some additional weekend clinical activity.
The service is fast paced and receives excellent patient feedback. This is an accredited service with a strong work ethic.

Along with those duties already listed the post holder will have budgetary responsibility. You will also need to ensure that all audits are completed and any actions arising from them are addressed. You will be part of the MDT and work closely with colleagues based at both the City and QMC Campuses.

Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service – I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
