About the role

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want.
The Service supports people with learning and physical disabilities in the Short Breaks Service (respite) over 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

The waking watch support worker role involves all aspects of night time and early morning support, including supporting adults with, personal care, support with managing finance, administering medication, and ensuring people’s needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

To support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
To support people with dignity and respect in order to meet their day-to-day needs, including personal care supports.
To work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service specific policies and practice guidelines at all times.

Skills and Experience

Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential as you will be given the necessary support and training to undertake this role.
Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care* within the first 2 years of employment (where applicable)
All new starters will be supported to complete the Care Certificate.
