The role
An opportunity has arisen for an important new role; Coordinator, Student Experience, Nations & EDI in the Open University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).
The role holder will directly support the Manager, Student Experience & Nations and Manager EDI, but will initially report directly to the Senior Manager Student Experience & Nations.
The role-holder will be responsible for a variety of tasks including (but not exclusively):
The receipt, allocation, follow-up and turnaround of all Faculty Stage 1 complaints & Stage 2 Academic Appeals.
The receipt, coordination, allocation and QA of Academic Conduct (plagiarism) cases, following strict policy and procedures to meet agreed service levels.
Tracking and monitoring of the workload of contracted Academic Conduct Officers and reporting regularly on workload capacity and anticipated demand.
Assisting with the running of networking and training opportunities for Staff Tutors.
Engagement with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) priority activities as required.

Skills and experience include:
General secondary education to at least ‘A’ level or equivalent.
Experience within a customer service or complaints environment and an interest in
how to strive to enhance the OU student experience, and
how best to address if things do not go to plan for students.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills and confidence in disseminating information to others via contribution in meetings and via presentations.
Ability to build rapport with colleagues across all grades and levels.
