Job Description : Partnership care London currently recruiting energetic, dedicated and experienced Autism Support Workers for Day Centre in Tower Hamlet.Position: Day Centre Autism Support Worker/DriverJob Types: Full Time, Part Time, Relief Bank Worker- Zero HourSalary: £10.08 – £12.15 per hour (Including Holiday Pay) and Dependent on experience.Schedule: Monday to Friday (9:00am to 4:00pm) + OvertimeCOVID-19 considerations: Daily Covid Tests for all staffLicence/Certification: Minibus Driving Licence (preferred)As a Day Centre Autism Support Worker you will: Supporting our service user with ASD/ Autism, ADHD, Mild to Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) Complex Needs, Severe to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMD), sensory and communication impairments.Enable our service users to access social, leisure, work and educational opportunities and to sustain an active programme of involvement in such activities.Supports create activities that are tailored to our service user’s needs, including outings into the community that promote independence and dignity.Ensure you support our service users in developing socially valued lifestyles that include a varied range of culturally and age-appropriate experiences, building on the service user’s strengths, interests, and aspirations.Providing a creative and fun learning environment, the Support Worker initiates the plan and provide enjoyable and stimulating group and one-to-one activities based on the young adult’s needs, interests, and preferences.Requirements of the role: As an Autism Support Worker, you will be supporting service users with ASD/ADHD Autism, sensory and communication impairments, Mild to Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Complex Needs, and Severe to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/ PMLD). Many of the service users will communicate non-verbally, so being able to use Makaton or PECs will be ideal. You must be comfortable with personal care (feeding and toileting).As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with other staff members and the multidisciplinary therapy team. Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with service users are essential.Be a positive and caring person, who is confident and able to deliver individualised care and support in line with each of our service user’s support guidelines.Communicate and engage effectively with our service users, their families, colleagues and other professionals.Have strong interpersonal and working relationship skills.To ensure you develop and sustain warm, trusting and professional relationships with service users and promote their self-esteem, happiness and emotional health.The ability to listen sensitively to others, have good verbal communication skills and use the service users’ preferred method of communication.Ability to work in a calm, patient and tolerant manner at a pace appropriate to the needs of the individual.We need you to be naturally genuine, caring and enthusiastic.
