As an Engineering Manager within our Reliability team, you will lead and grow a high performing team that ensures our customers can rely on Skedulo to run their mission-critical workloads. This cross-functional group is composed of infrastructure engineers, site reliability engineers, software engineers and quality engineers. As our Engineering Manager you will lead people, delivery and process improvements across the Reliability team.

People Leadership
Helps their staff to overcome obstacles, resolve blockers, and complete work tasks.
Care genuinely for the health and wellbeing of your staff.
Mentors / coaches direct reports in an open, respectful, flexible, and empathetic manner.
Provides positive and constructive feedback to direct reports in a timely manner.
Works with reports to build and achieve goals on their Career Development Plans.
Holding regular (weekly or bi-weekly) 1 on 1’s with your direct reports.
Approve leave, partner with other Engineering Managers ensuring adequate resourcing.
Provide clarity around the processes and policies of Skedulo for their staff.
Participates in the performance management process where required.
Communicate within your team in an effective, clear, concise manner in both written and verbal form.
Share relevant information from senior leaders and executives to their staff.
Recruit and retain a high performing team
Delivery
Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate product delivery
Create connections with other teams to ensure alignment across engineering.
Ensure strong communication between squads by facilitating exchange of information
Provide goals for the team that inspire but don’t overburden.
Coordinate incident responses and ensure PIRs and associated follow-up activities are completed for customer outage events
Lead escalation responses and work across the organisation and directly with our customers (when required) to resolve customer issues
Facilitate the development and delivery of OKR’s
Process Improvement
Drive initiatives across the tribe to continuously improve the quality, security, observability, availability and performance of the Skedulo product suite
Minimum Qualifications
Must have at least 2+ years in a leadership/coaching role
Must have at least 2+ years working with agile development methodologies
Must have at least 4+ years commercial experience in a Product or SaaS company
Desired Skills & Experience
Preferred candidate will have at least 2 years prior experience in a people leadership role.
Preferred candidates will have a team player mentality, quick on their feet, agile, and aren’t afraid to speak up and voice their opinion.
Preferred candidates have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
