Purpose of the Role:
The primary purpose of this role requires management of financial accounting process for M&P team and related activities like budget management, reconciliation and reporting of financials.This is a people leadership role and the incumbent will be required to closely work with various stakeholders across Business LFOs/IOs, Marketing and GSM teams. The role will require strong focus on generating efficiencies, accelerating accounting processes and ensuring overall governance.
Functional:
People leadership role with direct supervision of 3-5 colleagues.
Accounting and Reporting for M&P expense and budget management along with year-end support to various marketing teams. Total AXP M&P budget of $4.5Bn.
Responsible for owning & maintaining financial/data integrity, compliance with internal service level agreements (SLA), guidelines, accounting policies and regulatory requirements as applicable.
The incumbent will be required to have strong accounting & reconciliation knowledge, policy awareness & control mindset.
Strong communication, relationship management & collaboration skills while closely working with various stakeholders across Controllership, Business Finance, Audit and Control groups, etc.
High proficiency in MS-Office applications, Oracle Applications, Essbase/TM1, etc.

Additional:
Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve queries with the ability to deal with large set of data, perform trend & variance analysis and creating meaningful insights.
Self-starter with excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvements.
Quick learner, an eye for detail and ability to work during ambiguity.

Technical:
Good understanding of US GAAP (Revenue Recognition/M&BD) and basic techno finance/automation skill/ know how will be an added advantage.

Academic Background:
The incumbent should be a qualified accountant (CA, ICWA) or MBA Finance/ Commerce Post Graduate with 5 plus years of post qualification experience.
