Job Description : 0.5 FTE Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in Chiropractic

Maximum of 21 months with a review at 18 months to confirm the continuation of the fixed-term contract.

London South Bank University are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated UK GCC-registered Chiropractor who may be a recent graduate to join the progressive Division of Physiotherapy, Sport Rehabilitation and Chiropractic, within the Institute of Health and Social Care.

Successful candidates will work with the existing team to deliver teaching across the existing Integrated Masters in Chiropractic. The course is currently based at the Southwark campus with an anticipated move to outstanding new facilitates at our Croydon Campus for September 2022.

GTAs will primarily assist academic staff in providing a high quality student experience, which adds value to all stages of the learning experience. GTAs will work under the supervision of an academic member of staff and be mentored by a subject specialist.

GTAs can:

help to bridge the gap between student and lecturer
understand the barriers and issues facing new students to higher education, with a particular focus on reducing the racial awarding gap and embedding an actively anti-racist culture for students and staff
facilitate seminars, face to face drop-in sessions and online support
provide students with guidance on study skills, academic writing and academic services
act as an Ambassador of the University and a role model to others in schools and colleges
make the transition to higher education smooth and seamless.

You will:

Be registered with the General Chiropractic Council
Have excellent communication skills and
Be passionate about healthcare education.

Please note that the University is operating a hybrid working model which means a mix of working on site and from home, confirmation of days work on campus are arranged with the line manager.
