Job Description : Role Overview:
IT Solution Architect for EDI will craft and collaborate on a roadmap of EDI Management and Operations solutions that deliver product faster for S&N markets Globally. The IT EDI Architect will partner with related Product Owners and Product Directors to ensure the design and deployment of quality system solutions that consolidates all EDI Operations software into a set of solutions that reduces the overall application footprint.
Solution Architect will simplify the EDI business on a common core set of applications that will drive delivery of products to market faster. Architect will own all design for EDI technical solutions that will deliver the desired business outcomes. Solutions will be in alignment with enterprise architecture standards published by Enterprise Architecture function. Solutions will need to meet quality requirements, technical constraints, and performance requirements. Solution Architect will supervise the quality of output arising from solution build and responsible for acceptance of the technical integrity and architectural compliance of the solution. The architect will work with both on premise, cloud based technologies to design the optimal solution for the customer.
Responsibilities:
(60%) Owns architecture for sophisticated IS/IT solutions to be deployed for S&N EDI operations related projects (releases and/or rollouts) including architectural requirements gathering, fit/gap analysis, sprint reviews, cloud maturity, training, functional specification approvals, automated testing, configuration, data conversion and solution governance in a Hybrid on premise and cloud architecture.
(20%) Ensures solution consistency and assists in facilitating the change leadership interventions within EDI Management/Operations and contributes to the EDI IT continuous improvement by assessing impact of the new requests on the core architecture.
(10%) Focus on continuous improvement, keeping up with industry and proactively advising the business of new capabilities that can help them support the company growth and strategy.
(10%) Performs Level 3 support for EDI Management Enterprise software. Updates documentation & practices and constantly looks for new ways to ‘Shift Left’ EDI IT support so lower cost models can be successful globally.
Key Skills and Responsibilities (SFIA based)
Requirements definition and management – REQM – Level 4
Contributes to selection of the requirement’s approach for projects, selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Defines and handles scoping, requirements definition, prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity. Facilitates input from collaborators, provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritisation of requirements. Reviews requirements for errors and omissions. Establishes the requirements base-lines, acquires formal agreement to requirements, and ensures traceability to source. Investigates, leads, and applies authorised requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with organisational change policy.
Data modelling and design – DTAN – Level 4
Investigates corporate data requirements, and applies data analysis, design, modelling, and quality assurance techniques, to establish, modify or maintain data structures their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). Provides advice and mentorship to database designers and others using the data structures and associated components.
Service acceptance – SEAC – Level 5
Engages with technical design and project managers or Project Management Office, to ensure accurate products are produced, in a timely fashion. Evaluates quality of project outputs against agreed service acceptance criteria.
Solution architecture – ARCH – Level 6
Leads development of architectures for complex solutions, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external, and internal customers. Takes full responsibility for the balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements within a significant area of organisation. Establishes policy and strategy for the selection of solution architecture components, and co-ordinates design activities, promoting the team to ensure consistency. Ensures that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to. Within a business change programme, owns target design, policies standards, working proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design across projects within the programme.
Specialist advice – TECH – Level 6
Provides interpersonal leadership and guidelines to promote the development and exploitation of specialist knowledge in the organisation. Maintains a network of recognised guides (inside and/or outside the organisation) who can deliver authoritative advice in areas relevant to the organisation’s current and future needs. Provides input into professional development planning across a significant part of the organisation to further the development of appropriate expertise.
Systems design – DESN – Level 5
Adopts and adapts appropriate systems design methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately predictive approaches, adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches, and ensures they are applied optimally. Designs large or complex systems. Undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-off. Makes recommendations and assesses and leads associated risks. Reviews others’ systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology. Ensures that the system design balances functional and non-functional requirements. Contributes to development of systems design policies and standards and selection of architecture components..
Location: Pune, India
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience
Licenses/ Certifications :
Training/certification in EDI, Ecommerce, Project Management
Experience:
Typically, will have held roles in the EDI Solution, Digitization and EDI Operations Solution Architecture workspace for at least 8-10 years
– Extensive SAP Configuration and User Support experience in and around Ecommerce, EDI as – well as multi-functional experience, including multiple full project lifecycles
Experience with Esker, GHX deployment a plus
Experience supporting business process improvements with-in EDI
Management & EDI business process.
Lean and/or 6 Sigma training preferred
Hands on knowledge of SAP modules integration and downstream impacts.
Experience working with cloud based methodologies and toolsets.
Experience with AGILE project methodology and practice
Experience with Customer Solution product and technology demonstrations.
Demonstrable Experience with complex integrations, web applications, and SaaS configuration.
Extensive understanding of the medical Device or Life science industry including cost drivers and value opportunities.
Ability to tie technical solutions to business solution or prospect needs.
Ability to work and collaborate across teams without strategic direction
Experience of working in a Global organization.
Physical Demands: Office (PC/Phone) and meeting based work with occasional International travel
Travel Requirements: <25%
