Job Description : ITT Middleware Engineer
Position Title: DevOps SRE Engineer – Middleware Kafka Expert
Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide support for Confluent Kafka tools and manage their Lifecycle. Act as technical escalation point for Kafka operational support.
Provide Operational support to other application teams in event of major incidents or complex technical issues.
Create support procedures that satisfy governance Criteria Provide input to the delivery of engineering projects to the agreed scope.

Requirement:
8 years of relevant APM administration preferably in open source toolsets:
Strong Experience in working with Middleware Kafka, ActiveMQ
Strong experience in Tomcat, Apache.
3 to 5 years hands-on working experience coding in Java/Python.
Sound knowledge on working with Linux environments and has hands-on experience with Shell scripting.
Knowledge in OpenShift, GCP, AWS would be preferred Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
Must have good communication and writing skills. Able to drive meetings and coordinate different stakeholders.

Development and Operations – Application monitoring/Skills Required:
Strong Systems Management/Enterprise Management skills with a focus on APM and a proven background in supporting APM.
Hand on experience in coding preferably in Java, Python or Go Lang and comfortable doing application monitoring instrumentation.
Experience in developing and maintaining custom web portals to automate administration tasks, deployment of applications and microservices in containers.
Responsible for benchmarking, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
In-depth Understanding of internals of Kafka(Apache/Confluent) cluster management, zookeeper, schema registry, topic replication etc
Hands on experience in managing Kafka cluster in Linux/Unix environments.
Experienced in Linux platform and shell scripting.
Should be able to troubleshoot and perform installation of opensource toolsets in Linux OS.
Familiar with CI/CD toolsets like Bitbucket, Jenkins and release process.
Familiar with docker containers and deployment in Open-shift and AWS.
Knowledge of Site reliability engineering concepts, high availability, disaster recovery.
Familiar with Change management and Incident management controls.
