We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Consultant Specialist.
In this role, you will:
Lead a variety of different initiatives with a global team of Engineers
Work closely with the stakeholders to ensure governance, project delivery and Architecture requirements are met
Work across one or more DevOps ‘pods’ as the Lead DevOps/Pipeline Engineer
Build and manage the pipeline capabilities to enable HSBC developers to deploy applications across the platforms
Ensure Operational and compliance activities are undertaken, and remediation actions planned for services
Provide quality assurance for engineering delivery and ensure best practice is followed throughout development and operations
Drive the pipeline capability forward to keep up with growing business demand
Support continuous improvement processes and contribute to engineering best practice
Making sure the platform is highly available at all times.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Experience of working in an Agile Scrum & DevOps environment including expert knowledge of scrum management tools (e.g. Jira)
Understand the complexities of moving to the cloud and how to overcome them and deploy at scale
Advanced Knowledge of at least 3 of Cloud Foundry / AWS / Spring Boot / K8s /Mulesoft / Kong
Extensive knowledge in using Jenkins and Groovy
Customer/stakeholder focus. Ability to build strong relationships with Cloud Services, Application DevOps, cross functional IT and global/local IT teams
Good leadership and teamwork skills – Works collaboratively with other pods both within the same team and external
Operational effectiveness – delivers solutions that align to approved design patterns and security standards
Experience of operating in a highly regulated industry (e.g. financial services)
Can lead the quarterly PI planning sessions
A good understanding of API microservice Architecture and the deployment of them
Demonstrable technical experience of:
Jira / Confluence
Jenkins
Java
Groovy
Docker
Kubernetes
ISTIO or other service meshes
HELM
CI/CD tooling
Monitoring services
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success
A track record of effectively handling complex sales, to meet the needs of demanding customers, in a fair and ethical way
