To enable moving towards scale-up we are looking to do a full re-architect within Azure allowing us to have smaller stream aligned autonomous teams that are backed by a product focussed set of enablement tooling.

What you will do
Key contributor to the evolution of our engineering capabilities
Leading the technical effort in re-platforming the product with greenfield development in the cloud
Coaching and mentoring the team in cloud native best practices
Champion the benefits of constant improvement, observability and automation
Influence and bolster the engineering culture within the organisation
Work with the technical product owner and engineers to produce a technical roadmap and execution plan for the enablement platform
Work with the CTO to define the long-term technical direction for the organisation
Drive constant improvement in quality, quantity and value of engineering output
Proactively seek technical solutions to improve delivery speed and quality
Encourage effective testing, code quality, and useful code review
Help drive the recruitment efforts including helping constant improvement of the process
Foster a secure and safe environment for your team members
Who you will be
You will have experience setting technical direction in collaboration with teams
You will proactively seek out ways in which to improve delivery and developer experience
You will have experience designing and delivering scalable, resilient, secure and highly available architectures into the cloud
You will understand the importance of being customer focussed
You will enjoy mentoring, coaching and growing other engineers
You like to move quickly and iteratively, and believe that shipping early is often best
You are comfortable with continuous integration/continuous deployment workflows
You are proactive and enjoy working on cross-functional delivery teams
You enjoy constant learning and sharing with your peers and are comfortable pair programming
You will have experience deploying complex infrastructure as code into the cloud
You will be comfortable with the ambiguity, change and autonomy that comes with working at an early-stage company
You will have at a minimum an interest in data engineering and/or MLOps
You will have worked on distributed systems using a high-level language such as python, java, go etc. It does not need to align with our core languages, and we will support training if a new to our core languages.
