Working with a vision of “delivering excellence in everything we do”, the Lead Nurse/ODP will lead and manage the specialty teams alongside the Acute Pathway Clinical Director, General Manager, and other Lead Nurse, ensuring optimal service delivery.

The post holder will be accountable for the non-medical care within theatres/acute pain/resus/spiritual & pastoral care, with a main focus on driving forward clinical patient safety. They will be accountable for the efficient and effective operational management across the specialties, guaranteeing provision of high quality evidence based nursing and operating department practice. The Lead Nurse/ODP will be a strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible and accessible to patients, carers and staff.
The post holder will have a particular responsibility to support the development of Clinical Standards, Governance and Service Improvement, to modernise patient services and ensure the active involvement of patients and carers in the way services are developed, delivered and evaluated
Working for our organisation
The post holder will be based across City Hospital and the Queen’s Medical Centre and will be expected to participate in a trust wide on call rota that ensures there is senior professional leadership for the Trust 7 days per week.

This post is a senior Trust Leadership and Managerial role and the appointee would also be expected to represent the Specialty on a number of relevant Trust committees or meetings.

Essential criteria
Qualified Clinical Practitioner.
Registered with NMC/HCPC
Management Qualification or equivalent level of experience
Desirable criteria
Masters degree or equivalent post basic training
Experience

Significant experience at clinical management level including strategy development, budgetary control and clinical leadership
Experience of leading and delivering programmes of change within an acute NHS setting including role redesign
Experience of line management of groups of clinical areas

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

The system will run a check against the key security features within your documentation. The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.
Consent:
Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service – I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
