This is a newly created leadership post for the Children and Young Person’s Cancer Network in the East Midlands (CYPICS). We’d be keen for you to further develop that team and to expand non-medical prescribing roles and advanced practice within the specialty.
You would also take on the Governance oversight of the Electronic Paediatric Chemotherapy Prescribing System (Chemocare) in Nottingham, as well as working with colleagues throughout the region to explore and implement a fully integrated regional prescribing system.

In addition to the below summary you need to familiarise yourself with full Job Description and Person Specification documents attached to this advert.
To provide leadership to the Pharmacy team caring for children and young people with cancer, both at NUH and across the East Midlands.
To work with the wider Paediatric Oncology Pharmacy team to provide clinical cover for inpatients and those attending hospital for chemotherapy and associated treatments.
To assist the medical members of the Paediatric Oncology Team in the prescribing and review of medication for a defined caseload of patients.
To have oversight of the Paediatric ChemoCare electronic prescribing system, leading on Governance and working with the team to ensure it is maintained and updated as required.
To be a Trust-wide opinion leader for pharmaceutical matters relating to Paediatric Oncology and Haematology; including providing professional leadership and support to clinical pharmacists
To strategically develop and lead the provision of expert clinical practice – promoting safe and evidenced-based practice and contributing to improved clinical outcomes and services to patients in line with the Health Education England multi-professional framework for advanced clinical practice.
To contribute to service development within the Family Health Division and the Pharmacy Department.
To provide specialist training and education on medication related topics to the multi-disciplinary team
