Job Description : Alternative Curriculum Education (ACE) are looking for a multi craft tutor to join our small staff team to deliver basic woodwork and craft activities to our students aged from 8 to 16 yrs. Candidates will need to have good basic woodwork and DIY skills and be able to pass these skills on to our students. A safe working environment is a priority and you will be expected to maintain safety in the workshop at all times.ACE mainly work with young people who are disaffected from mainstream education for various reasons but all our students are still on school roll. We offer both an academic and practical programme of education to engage the young people who attend our centre. We also work with select groups of young people from both mainstream and special schools who attend the centre for a bespoke programme of enrichment activities with us.The ideal candidate will need to be competent, but not necessarily qualified, in carpentry or similar subject area and be able to deliver lessons to small groups (maximum of six) young people, you will have a support worker to assist you. You will need to possess an abundance of patience, be flexible and most importantly have a good sense of humour.All staff undergo a comprehensive programme of training including;- first aid, safeguarding, health and safety and conflict resolution and positive handling techniques.Due to the nature of the job all staff will need to have an enhanced DBS check carried out and provide two satisfactory references and proof of qualifications.This is a term time only position.Hours and salary are negotiable dependant upon qualifications and experience.Benefits:On-site parkingJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePart-time hours: 16 per weekSalary: £15.00-£20.00 per hourSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:As we are a small centre with limited space we require all staff and students to wear face masks at this time.
