Job Description : Job description:The Handimachal Therapy Centre (sponsored by MPCL) is a small voluntary therapy clinic for disabled children, opened in Kullu in 2009.We work with children with fine and gross motor challenges, communication disorders, language delays, emotional disorders, sensory integration issues, autism spectrum disorders, feeding disorders. We believe collaboration across disciplines helps reveal the optimal care plan for the children we serve. We also focus on educating families, as they play a crucial role in their child’s development and specific challenges.Know more about Handimachal: www.handimachal.co.inWe are seeking a qualified Speech Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience (preferred! but, freshers are also welcome) with disabled children, to work on a full-time basis.Work activities:Will be responsible mainly to develop and execute therapy plans of cases of Austim, Language Delays and CPcarrying out assessment and treatment of patients for a variety of disorders including:delayed speech, including early intervention,dysphagia,dysarthria and aphasia,speech and sound disorders,voice disorders,eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties;maintain records and documentations of therapy programs;performing controlled therapy sessions with individuals, groups and/or families;should be able to use sign language, alternative and augmentative communication methods and picture exchange communication system in therapy program;collaborating with other staff members (occupational therapist and special educator in particular), family members or caretakers in the setting of treatment;introducing and supporting new ways of working with families to prevent future speech and language difficulties;delivering training to parents and teachers, allowing them to help in the child’s development;teaching exercises to help eliminate speech problems;referring patients to other specialists when necessary;liaising with other professionals such as doctors and ear/nose/throat (ENT) specialists;keeping detailed clinical notes and drafting reports on patient symptoms, treatments and progress;attending clinics and participating in relevant meetings, case conferences as appropriate;cooperating actively with other team members (including foreign volunteers from time to time) to improve the Centre organization, organize events, share common work, and take part in discussions of general interest to theRequirements: * Minimum Degree: BSc (Speech and Hearing) + 2-3 year experience with childrenExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFluent in English and HindiConfidence to relate to a wide range of people and enjoy working with children and parentsCommunication skillsEmpathy, patience and excellent motivational skillsResponsible, professional approach, respecting client confidentialityAbility to make your own decisions as well as work in co-operation with othersWork in an organized pattern, respecting timingsFlexibility and adaptabilityWork conditions: * Working hours: 9:30 am to 5:00 pm from Monday to Saturday; second Saturday freeLocation: Kullu town (Himachal Pradesh), altitude 1,300 m (home visits in villages from time to time)Local travelling may be necessary for home visits or local seminarsSalary: * From 25,000 Rs to 27,000 Rs monthly depending on professional backgroundOne year renewable contractPlease send your detailed resume with a cover letter in English to our email id or reach out to us on +91-XXXXXXXXXX or +91-8091168121Job Types: Full-time, Regular / Permanent, Contractual / Temporary, Volunteer, InternshipSalary: ₹25,000.00 – ₹27,000.00 per monthSchedule:Weekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Yearly bonusExperience:total work: 1 year (Preferred)Speak with the employer+91 8091168121
