Corsearch has a flat structure with geographically diverse cross-functional team of engineers who provide cutting edge, high-performance code for Corsearch’ s flagship brand protection productThe Striker team is one of two teams dedicated to providing innovative tools to remove, mitigate, verify, investigate threats and measure impact to ensure that threats found, online, have an appropriate method for dealing with them and brands can evolve their strategy. You’ll contribute to and be a key person in making the internet a better and safer place for everyone.*_What will you do?_*As a technical lead you will: Lead the development Striker team with technical direction.Be a line manager for other software engineers.Support individual growth, of team members, to achieve individual as well as team objectivesCoach colleagues in developing target skills and capabilities in line with team and personal goals.Set workgroup objectives aligned to organisational drivers.Cross functionally align the Striker goals and be a representative for the team with the rest of the organization.Be a part of forming effective teams and work streams.Be a part of defining ways of working for the team.Facilitates effective working relationships between team members.Provide operational and technical direction, support and guidance to assigned colleagues.Take an active part of estimating and assessing feasibility of roadmap and backlog items of the team.As a developer you will: Develop software components to deliver value to stakeholders, namely code-based scrapers and modifications to scraping systemsWork with team to deliver outcomes through software developmentIdentify, create and apply software development and security standards and processesEstimate time and effort required for software developmentConstruct, amending and verifying software componentsApply test-driven development and ensuring appropriate test coverageUse peer review techniques — such as pair programmingDocument software componentsUnderstand and obtain agreement to the value of the software components to be developedSelect appropriate development methods and life cyclesApply recovery techniques to ensure the software being developed is not lostImplement appropriate change control to software development practicesUse design concepts and patterns to develop software design and provide the basis for software construction and verificationAdopt and adapt software design models, tools and techniques based on the context of the work.Resolve operational problems with software and fix bugsRequirementsWhat do we ask of you?Bachelor of Computer Science (BSc), Engineering, or equivalent qualificationVery good knowledge of modern web application development including RESTful web services, web applications, databases, and operating systems;In depth experience of the software development lifecycle and code repositories such as git, including branching and merging flows and CI/CD pipelines;Python, Django, AWS, Kafka, Cassandra, BigQuery, MySQL, PostgresLinux toolchainKnowledge of agile methods (SCRUM)JIRA & Confluence experiencePrevious experience in managing teams is an advantage, but not a necessity.What do you do next?If this sounds interesting, click apply for this position and introduce yourself!
