Job Description:
The Quality Assurance Head leads the efforts of the Quality Assurance Department to achieve plant, category, and Quality goals. Duties include training and coaching partners, maintaining compliance with customers’ requirements, overseeing quality, food safety, and sanitation program design, implementation, and execution, and adhering to company and government programs, regulations, requirements, and guidelines. Additionally, this position is responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts in quality, food safety, and sanitation, maintaining an audit ready standard at all times, and evaluating partner performance, including partner accountability for adherence to safety, foods safety, quality, and sanitation programs.
What you’ll do:
Setting of Specifications for products, in accordance with the customers specifications
To review HACCP plan in co-ordination with aseptic and HACCP team leader for all products .
To review the system procedures and documents on regular basis and to bring about necessary amendments based on the changes in processes / changes in standards / changes in statutory requirements / change in customers’ expectations etc, by informing system coordinator for amendment.
Governmental Regulations – Be knowledgeable of various government regulations that must be complied with, i.e., OSHA, USDA, FDA, EPA, EEOC, etc. Work with our plant and EQFS teams to meet regulatory requirements.
To carry out sensory evaluation & shelf-life analysis of UHT products.
Ensuring all process conditions are maintained as per specifications.
To co-ordinate with production in case of any deviations in running product. To conduct Proficiency test of all analyst.
To review and analyze customer complaint.
Holding products until all necessary tests have been performed.
Reviewing and Implementation of Inspection & Test plans (ITP) and SOPs. teams to make sure that Food Safety, Quality, Sanitation, and Lab programs are designed, implemented, and executed on a daily basis to meet goals and requirements.
Identify and record work-in-progress & give conditional release prior to completion of inspection and testing in consultation with seniors / customers.
Assess training needs of the sub-ordinates. Co-ordinate with training coordinator to facilitate training to the identified sub-ordinates. Evaluate effectiveness of training provided after completion of training.
To participate and carry out audits with customers and later decide and implement corrective action.
To comply with Food Safety Requirements. And Quality Systems
Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups. Establishes and Audits PCPs, CCPs and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met. Reviews incidents during which the procedures are not met, and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.
What you need to succeed:
B. Tech (D.T.) B.Sc. — Chemistry / Microbiology, M.Tech/ M.Sc. in Food/Dairy Science or related
12-18 years of experience in Leadership of small to mid-sized Quality Assurance Teams. Experience in the food industry
Knowledge of food safety protocols which can normally be gained through licensing or certification programs
He shall have a sound knowledge of Quality control of Juice & Beverages. Well versed with the Food safety principles, HACCP and quality systems.
