Job Description : We are looking for an experienced Regional Clinical Lead to join our employee-owned business.

Be Caring are looking to recruit a Registered Nurse in the North of England, this will be predominantly in Newcastle, but some travel will be expected to support the Be Caring group as and when reasonably required.
Key Information:
Pay: £20p/hr (£24,960 per year)
Working Hours: 24hrs per week (2-3days per week)
Based Location: Tyneside Office – Regent Centre, Newcastle

The Role:
General
Participating in setting and maintaining standards of professional competence and current nursing practices in accordance with the NMC Code of Practice.
Ensuring that all relevant information regarding patients/ clients recorded, reported and, where necessary, acted upon to communicate any changes to the Consultant/GP and other team members as appropriate.
Co-coordinating and ensuring that all aspects of Inter-Professional care for assigned groups of clients are met, through the monitoring of follow up client visits, according to the Care Plan.
Having responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of self and others and always complying with requirements of Health and Safety regulations.
Undertaking such other duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the grade.
Being flexible regarding working hours including and weekend and evening work.
Co-coordinating and managing daily workload.
Adhering to and designing the designated Care Plan according to the client’s needs and in collaboration with families.
Participating in quality assurance initiatives, including team clinical supervision, audits, etc.
Maintaining supplies (stock control) and ensuring equipment is maintained in good working order.
Educational
Assisting with the planning of programs of education – both induction and ongoing essential training for carers.
Assessing and recording competency sign off care staff undertaking nurse delegated duties and retaining records of competence of carers.
Attending and contributing to appropriate meetings and training in relation to Be Caring requirements.
Maintaining your own professional profile by attending relevant courses/study days as agreed with Be Caring.
Personal Skills & Qualities:
To be responsible, without supervision, for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care with an understanding of NMC Code of Practice.
Ability to co-ordinate and communicate all aspects of care with the Consultant, Client & Referring Hospital Team.
To assist in the planning and delivery of training programs and maintaining supplies in good working order.
To work as a flexible team member, showing interest and participation in always understanding the business and industry, and to be responsible and compliant for Health and Safety Regulations of self and others.
To be proactive and motivated responding positively to new challenges.
The core responsibility of the Clinical Lead is to ensure relevant support staff are competent to deliver the appropriate health/social care tasks to specific packages of support.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Regional Clinical lead and support staff work with the NHS staff on a case-by-case basis. NHS Clinical Leads may train and staff and/or hand-over staff currently working within a complex care case, however, the BE CARING Regional Clinical lead will undertake their own assessment of the competence of staff and complete BE CARING documentation to that effect. The Regional Clinical lead will determine the on-going competence of staff and undertake additional training and offer additional support until satisfactory competence is achieved, this includes on-going review and annual reassessment of those skills
Such competencies will include:
Mechanical Ventilation at Home via Face Mask or Tracheostomy
Caring for a client with a Tracheostomy
Tracheal Suction
Caring For a Client with a Cough assist machine
Caring for a client with Spinal Cord Injury including DRE and Manual evacuation
Management of the client with Autonomic Dysreflexia
Caring For a Client with a Cough assist machine
PEG feeding /Gastrostomy feeding /PEJ feeding and medication
Naso- Gastric Tube pH Testing/Feeding/Medication
Nasopharyngeal Suction
Oxygen Saturation Monitoring/ Oxygen therapy
Oral Suction
Use of Buccal Midazolam / Rectal Diazepam
Insertion of Enema & Suppositories
Intermittent Catheterisation
The Regional Clinical lead will be expected to deliver theory training on the above list to Be Caring care staff on an individual and group basis. Additional training and support is available for the successful candidate to ensure current practise is maintained.

Critical Care Background – Essential
Minimum of 3 years ITU experience – Desirable
‘Neuro’ experience in ITU – Desirable
Skills:
RGN Band 6/7 – Essential
Training Skills – Essential
Registered Nurse RGN with active PIN – Essential
Completed and maintained ITU Training – Desirable
Completed ‘Teaching and Assessing’ Training – Desirable
Knowledge:
Able to access support and information to support themselves and their knowledge base – Essential
Educated to Degree Level – Desirable
